TASTYBABY SAYS "NO!" TO BPA

Moms are more vigilant than ever when it comes to keeping their kids safe from chemicals & toxins. Our vision for a non-toxic world doesn't just end with "organic." Tastybaby is committed to keeping babies safe. As part of our dedication to children's health, we never use plastics with BPA.

BPA - What is it?

BPA is an abbreviation for Bisphenol-A, an ingredient used to make plastics hard & clear, often found in the chemical compound that lines the inside of food containers such as canned goods & cartons.  The way BPA gets into our bodies by leeching into the food inside the can, carton or plastic container. This process is sped up by high heat. The reason moms are working so hard to get BPA out of our environment & daily products is because it acts as an environmental estrogen, which can disrupt normal hormone functioning, alters genes & interfere with normal physical & behavioral growth. BPA is especially threatening to children because they are growing & developing quickly.

Tastybaby's Containers

Our cups are made from the highest-quality, virgin #2 plastic & are free of Pthalates & Bisphenol-A and is deemed "microwave-safe"* by the FDA and the manufacturer.

*If you do not choose to microwave in plastic, Tastybaby can easily be popped out & into a glass or ceramic bowl.  Alternatively, you may choose to heat our food over hot water in a double-boiler.

We encourage our customers to recycle or re-use our cups.  (Sometimes re-use has less impact on the environment than recycling, which requires lots of energy to accomplish!)

What can you do?

Avoid polycarbonate & PVC plastics, both of which contain BPA.

Look at the recycling code on the bottom of plastic containers. Anything with a code of 3, 6 or 7 could present a high risk. Good alternatives are polyethylene plastic & containers with codes of 1, 2 or 4. Polypropylene, with recycling code 5 or PP, is also considered safe.
