Tastybaby’s own “Proust Questionnaire"-- Calling all moms! We’d love to hear your answer to our Tasty 10 Questionnaire!

Wanda with daughter, Tara on the beach in Hawaii
TASTY 10: WANDA, MOTHER OF TWO (HONOLULU, HI)
1. What defines “family” to you?
"Family” to me means a strong bond of unconditional love that is woven between human beings who may or may not actually share DNA. As a parent I try to remember the adage “a family that stays together plays together” and try to have as much fun with my children as I can. As kids get older its great to get them interested in “family” activities such as golf, tennis and skiing which they and you can share at any age but equally a good game of scrabble or cards can be just as enjoyable.
2. What is your fondest childhood memory?
I have lots of fond childhood memories but high among them has to be our family tradition of picking strawberries each summer. I remember we would pack an enormous picnic and spend the day with family and friends in the glorious English countryside running wild picking and eating as many strawberries as we could. By the end of the day we would literally be sick of strawberries so our brimming baskets that we returned home with would usually be given away to the old folks or neighbors.
3. If you could make one healthy lifestyle change, what would it be?
If I had the will power I would give up everything that contains sugar (the fact that this includes chocolate and champagne makes this so much less realistic).
4. What is the most recent planet-friendly thing you did?
I insist on only buying “Seventh Generation” household cleaning products. They are all made with ingredients that do not pose any chronic health risks and are safe for the environment. If every household in the US replaced one 25 oz petroleum based dishwashing liquid with one 25oz Seventh Generation vegetable based product we could save 81.000 barrels of oil, enough to heat and cool 4,600 US homes for a year!
5. What’s your favorite getaway?
Hanalei Bay in Kauai, Hawaii.
6. What is your favorite family meal?
Anything my mom makes especially her mulligatawny soup!
7. What keeps you up at night?
I’m generally a good sleeper but if someone close to me was seriously ill or in need, that would trouble me.
8. Who is the Tastiest person you know & why?
I would say my great grandmother. She had 14 children, raised another five step children, immigrated to England in her 70’s and died beautifully and peacefully with all her faculties intact at the age of 102.
9. On what occasions are you “Wasty?”
Much to the condemnation of some friends I still drive a Range Rover Sport...this may be one of the last things to go!
10. What makes you Tasty?
Now that’s a really hard one ... love of life, I’d probably say.
