Featured review of the month: Greenopia.com

"...And the top brand receiving Greenopia’s highest rating? Take a look at Tastybaby! The company was founded by two mothers on a self-proclaimed mission to help put an end to childhood obesity. They claim to be “creators of 100% certified frozen organic baby food, healthy and delicious, gluten-free organic food for babies and toddlers.” Their entire product line is organic, and grown without toxic pesticides and fertilizers and are “minimally processed without artificial ingredients, preservatives, irradiation or cloning.”

Tastybaby also packages their foods using blast freezing. This allows food to be frozen solid within minutes, which the American Cancer Society points out as the best way of preserving vitamins. According to the American Cancer Society, “frozen foods can often be more nutritious than fresh foods because they are often picked ripe and quickly frozen, whereas fresh foods may lose some of their nutrients in the time between harvesting and consumption.” Further, Tastybaby supports sustainable agriculture and use biodegradable packing.

And guess what? Looks like babies like it, too. A recent mommy blog pointed out lots of “gobbling” and “(positive) grunting” from babies Kellan and Stella." - Katherine Butler,

“I just wanted to let you know that I am so excited that Whole Foods is now carrying the Tasty Baby fruit snacks.  They are so superior to any other fruit snack.  My son loves them and it’s hard for me not to eat them too!” - Alison Matys

“We received the Tasty Baby snacks in the mail today and my daughter absolutely loves them! She has eaten two packages already(I had to hide the rest of them!)  She loved that they were shaped like different fruits (and they tasted like them as well!)” –- Kiley Smith

“My sister happens to be a registered dietitian and she told me that TastyBaby's fruit snacks are hands down the healthiest fruit snacks on the market for kids!” –- Erin M.

“When I was pregnant with BJ I fantasized about making my own baby food.  Being able to control the products that go into my son’s food would be fantastic and reassuring that he was getting the best nutrients that he possibly could.  The only problem, I don’t have the time to do that.  I have a full time job, 10 hours a day, and the remaining time I want to spend playing and interacting with my husband and son.  After a long day at work that last thing I want to do is to cook.  I feel a little guilty feeding BJ out of a jar even if it is organic.  Well, I have found the answer to my little problem, Tastybaby brand baby food.” -- Kat Hodson

 “Dear Tasty,
I am writing on behalf of my two children, ages 4 and 6.  Last week I took the youngest to the market with me and we saw your Tasty organic fruit snacks for the first time.  They were on sale, and had a coupon, so I had to give in to his pleading.  (I don't normally buy "fruit snacks" because they are candy in my book.)  Well, when he offered to share one with me, I was drooling for more!  You pack so much flavor into each one, it's no wonder you chose Tasty as your brand name.  My 6 year old asked me if I could email you to let you know how much he loves them, and his brother agreed that the "Tasties" are the best fruit snacks ever made.  So we've adopted his use of your name and call them Tasties instead of fruit snacks, because we think you are alone in a completely different category of snacks.  Thank you so much for transforming something all kids love to eat into something moms can love, too.  Tasties are the best!" -- Becky, Kohl, and Braylan Majesky

“Frozen baby food often has a fresher taste and may retain more nutrients. It's more like what you would blend yourself if you had the time ... Our faves include Tastybaby's Peas on Earth (sweet peas, brown rice and a touch of mint) and Tastybaby's Corn in the USA!"  -- Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine

“My name is Kate Ross, and we were able to speak with you at Alexandria. Va's Whole Foods. I wanted to write to tell you that we just finished our Tasty Baby Banana Mango and Pear purees. I am thrilled with your product, and our foster son absolutely loves them as well. They are perfect for a snack, and we are very happy to know that we are providing him with something that is organic and all fruit! Thank you for making such a wonderful product for babies and toddlers! We are now big fans. Take care.” -- Katie Ross

“Dear Shannan and Liane,
I just have to tell you that your email about the Great Baby Bail Out gave me chills.  Thank you so much for bringing up a very important point.  We are all under pressure but there are always folks out there that are much worse off than we are.  I believe that if everyone made some effort to help out a neighbor or family member we all would be better off.
Keep up the good Karma”
-- Julie

“The boys love the bangos & the corn ... the corn is so good I want to serve it as a side dish for my pot roast!"” -- Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Actress

“Speaking of good stuff... LOVE Tastybaby!!  He devours it!  He actually just had some for lunch & dinner last night & he truly does love it.  The texture is perfect in that it doesn't fall off the spoon like a lot of the baby food in jars & of course we love that its organic ... that's all I'll really feed him.” -- Trista & Ryan Sutter, from The Bachelorette

“Tastybaby saved us on our family vacation to the Caribbean. From now on, my son is hooked on Tastybaby!” -- Christa Miller, Actress

“I’m psyched for another option for baby food.  It’s about getting kids’ nutrition off on the right leg.” -- Gabrielle Reece, Pro-Volleyball Player

"Recently we tested a line of fresh frozen organic baby food that had us cracking up. Strange thing to say, I know but if you've ever read the website I Can Has Cheezeburger and seen the ironically captioned images of fat "lolcats" pining over tempting treats, then you can appreciate the look of sheer drooling drama on my very own LOLbaby when presented with Tastybaby baby food. Poor thing was beside himself with the yumminess.

My son already had discriminating taste. I've been preparing his food fresh at home but apparently I have not been doing it quite right. I've not mastered the combinations, spices or freshest organic ingredients, perhaps. Hard to say. All I know is that while my homemade food may be palatable, Tastybaby food is Gourmet. It's the STUFF. Note: Maybe this is why a fight broke out amongst the older children over who got to eat the leftover Bangos. Except there were no leftovers. The container was licked clean. My husband, meanwhile, ended up eating the Mama Mia entrees. And he only got to do this because the baby is not eating wheat products yet. The baby looked pretty peeved that Daddy was scarfing his food!" - Read the full review at Mommieswithstyle.com

"I feel it necessary to let your company know what a great job you are doing. Last month my 6 month old tried your baby foods and was so impressed with the scrumptiousness and heartiness they had to offer. You had to see her licking her lips and smile. This product was the best I have ever tried for my baby and when I called your customer service number to ask them about the ingredients they went out of their way to make sure I was treated nice and got the information I needed.

Your baby foods were so lip-smacking for my kid and inexpensive for me that I decided to share it with my community at my monthly New Mothers meeting and do a demonstration on how fantastic they were to my members." - Sandy, via email

"I just found Tasty Baby in my local organic grocery store (The Home Economist, Davidson, NC) and fed my 7 month old the icy peach as soon as I got home.  He is cutting all four front teeth on the top and he loved the slushy texture!! I LOVED the flavor myself!  I am now in love with Tasty Baby.  I can't wait to feed it to my 4 year old.  He used to be such a good veggie eater, but ever since entering preschool  he has revolted against veggies.  Too much saturated fat food and peer
pressure, I guess.

AND, I am so so so glad that you are selling on Amazon.com.  So now,
wherever we are, I can get Tasty Baby.

Awesome products!!" -- Amanda, via e-mail

"I'm not really into eating baby food, although I do like strained peaches. But this organic frozen product had me at "Hip 2B Pear" and sealed the deal with names like "Life's a Peach" and "Corn in the USA." But it wasn't about me or about the product being all-natural or a brilliant marketing plan, it was my 7-month-old granddaughter Kayleigh who cast the deciding vote. She adored it all -- from the Sweetie Pie (sweet potato with apples and cinnamon) to the Mama Mia (squash with zucchini, quinoa pasta and parmesan). Although these seem like sophisticated ingredients for a baby (one meal contains cumin), apparently, as the founders suggest, you must expand the baby's palate one taste at a time and they will be open to a broader range of tastes. A company creating foodies one Kickin' Chicken at a time deserves to be noticed." -- Sherry Hoffman, Gourmet Retailer Magazine

“First of all, I LOVE YOUR PRODUCT.  My 11 month old son is crazy for Bango! I actually first saw Tastybaby at Whole Foods.  We used to buy another brand, but have switched.   It was the Bango that pulled us in!  :)" -- Nicole

“I love that your food is fashion accessory for fridge. ” -- John

“My family and I love your product!  I wanted to enter your First Annual Tasty Love Letter contest and tell Tastybaby and it's readers about my wonderful husband Jeremy.  We have been together for 10 years now and had our second daughter, Brooke this past September.  Our other daughter, Erika, has just recently started on your tasty products and we couldn't be happier.  Thank you for all that you have done.” -- Angela

“I am the mother of an 8-month old who religiously uses your products. Truly, the two of you are to be commended for your generosity and commitment to community.  Thank you SO much for bringing the Tastybaby product to mothers like me.  Yours is the only brand that offers organic peaches that aren't blended with a bunch of other additives.  My little one has a sensitive tummy, and your peaches and pears help her stomach with anything new that we introduce.  And it is great for adults too.  I had an unfortunate bout of food poisoning last week, and your Hip to be Pear was the only thing I could eat for 2 days!  So my daughter and I both have you to thank for our health!” -- Amanda

“I just wanted to say how very proud I am of all that you are doing for the health and safety of our most precious resource… our children!!  You should feel a wonderful sense of accomplishment!” -- Linda

“Oh my God… I love your web site!!! I actually read every article and was truly delighted!  I am so impressed.  Keep up the good work, you’re going to be huge.” -- Lynne

“This is such a smart website!! I really loved your story on the fire.  You guys are doing an amazing job.  I vote for Tastybaby to replace Gerber right now!!!” -- Kelly

“Your website has grown in breadth, depth, sophistication, beauty, commitment, and more.  Superb job!” -- Pat

“Thanks so much for your kind donation for the families who lost their homes in the recent fire.  You are both role models for us all!”  -- Pamela

"My kids and I love your food.  I put it in their lunch and the containers work well.  The portion size is just right for my lap-band diet." -- Ebony
